Permission to Attend Conferences

SWCD supervisors and personnel are authorized to attend the OFSWCD Annual Meeting, Area 3 meetings, and the OFSWCD Summer Supervisors School. Supervisors are authorized to attend the NACD National Convention. The District will pay all supervisors’ registrations, meals, lodging, and travel/mileage, unless otherwise decided by the board. Any guests are responsible for his/her own expenses.

 Staff Attendance to NACD Convention

One staff member may attend the NACD national convention each year if budget considerations allow. Staff participation is based on seniority. The most senior staff member has first choice to attend. If he/she passes, the next employee with the most seniority has the option to attend, and so on. The staff member who attends the convention is then last on the list the next year. The District will pay the staff member’s registration, meals, lodging, and travel, unless otherwise decided by the board. Attendance will count as normal hours worked. Any guests are responsible for his/her own expenses.

 Partnership Meeting

Staff members are authorized to attend the annual partnership meeting. The District will pay all registration, meals and lodging. All other training and meeting attendance are subject to approval by the District board.

 Other Travel

All travel is subject to the policy set forth in the personnel policies of the Holmes SWCD.

 Participation in OSWCDE

Staff participation in the Ohio Soil & Water Conservation District Employees Association is on the employee’s own time. The board will pay for the employee registration cost.
